check coolant level message
I have a 1992 325i. I just replaced the coolant reservoir and the coolant level sensor. I thought that this would fix the check coolant message. I bled the system, but I am still getting the message. Any ideas on what else could be the cause. Thanks.

Before I gave up, I would try bleeding it a couple more times. I just put a water pump and thermostat and reservoir on my daughter's '97. I ran it through one bleeding procedure per the book, and then warmed it up. I don't even have any heater yet, so there is still a lot of air in there.

My 1987 325is low coolant level light was on because the wire was broken going to the sensor. I fixed the wire and all is well.

Thanks all. The electrical connection was the fault. I found some information that others may find useful. You can check the sensor with an Ohm meter. When the float level isup, the resistance should be not more than 1 ohm. In the down position, it should be at least 40 K Ohm. The float should rise in the coolant and fall when the tank is empty.
