Does any one know of a company that manufactures a throttle body spacer for a 1985 BMW 325e

This will do absolutely nothing on your car. It's a scam. The only way you would make power this way is if it was a "fogger" plate for a nitrous setup. Of course, the "e" is not a performance engine. If you put NO2 on there, it wouldnt last long.
If your car is an automatic, you might consider swapping the rear end to that of a manual. This will give you more acceleration. Not more power, but you would essentially be re-gearing the final drive for more low end. I've built a couple of high performance M20 engines. I would reccommend looking into swapping an "i" motor into your car. That would be the cheapest way of getting more power. In order to make an "e" quicker, you might consider whats called a 327i, using the "e" block with an "i" head. I cant recall the specifics, but I think you would also have to use the "i" pistons and wiring harness. Intake stuff ONLY works when you have done a lot of head work. i.e. port and polish, bigger cam. That little plate will do NOTHING. "swirling" the air makes NO difference. A good analogy is to take a 3" pipe and put a 4" filter on the end of it. You still have a 3" pipe for all that air to flow through. The basis of the "swirling" goes back to older carbureted cars where you would want to have turbulence in the intake to help atomize the fuel and air more. In fact, in some cases, they would leave the castings on the inside of the manifold rough to aid this as well. With the advent of fuel injection, atomization is nearly instant, hence no need for the "swirling" It's just snake oil. Dont buy into it. |

I agree with Jared - it sounds like an absolute scam; what a waste!
