E36 Electrical Issue DME Relay

Hi Guys.
I am having a hard time with a problem and was wondering if anyone could help or has maybe come across this fault before?
I have a drain on the battery of around 0.65 amp when the ignition is off. This stops if I pull the DME Relay. Pins 85 and 86 on the Relay are staying live permanently whilst the relay is in situe as if there is an earth fault somewhere. So the Relay remains powered up all the time and I have to remove it every time I park up for any length of time. I have bought a new relay and this made no difference.
