Caliper dust boot (I think) won't seat properly
Howdy,
Bought a couple of refurbed front calipers for an '02 330. On one of them, the dust boot (pretty sure it's the dust boot) isn't seated correctly and for the life of me, I can't get it seated. I've tried (carefully and gently) to push the seal down with a flathead screwdriver but I'm afraid I will tear the boot if I push any harder. I called Pelican and rather than send me another, the gentleman on the phone tried to give me some tips on fixing it. I really didn't follow and I'm at a loss. As the caliper this is to replace is completely and utterly seized (thus rendering the car undrivable - as it has been for ten days now), I'd really like to get this wrapped up quickly. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks. |

Never mind. I got it. I used a smaller flathead with a little extra force and it slipped into place.

Good job.
When I restored my calipers the dust boot, in my opinion, was the hardest thing to do. Glad to see you got it figured out. |
