I have an 03, 745 Li, and the "hood open" light in the dash continues to come on although the hood secured?

Your hood switch could be malfunctioning. Locate the switch and unplug it. The switch is located on driver side in rear of engine compartment. Mounted right at the bulkhead. It is a black plastic pin switch. If the warning light goes out and alarm works normally, replace the hood switch.
