Power Windows are not working on my 92 e36

Hello all,

My 92' 325i e36 4-door sedan windows stopped working recently. Is there a fuse somewhere that I can check or do you think the main windows control is shot?? Anyone experienced this before??

Thank you in advance.

Jay

Is the window completely dead? Hit switch and no response? or does it buzz when you hit the switch?

Pull the trim off the switch panel and check for voltage at switch.

If you have no voltage through switch then that's your problem

Second, open the door and jiggle the wires going to the door while you press on the switch if the widow moves you have a open circuit (broken wire)

if the regulator motor is bad you need to remove the door panel off the inside and possibly replace the motor.

First check the fuse, not sure where it is, it could be blown or corroded. BMW have a lot fuses it might be under the backseat.

Which window is it? It's usually the drivers side it gets used the most

Sorry,

I didn't read your post correctly if all four windows don't work it's most likely a fuse. It could be blown or a corroded fuse. It could also be caused by a broken wire (open circuit) in the wire that feed the individual window switches.

It's all 4 windows are not working. I hope it just the fuse!! I can't check it now since the outside temp is minus 4 degree (-4) today and tomorrow.

Thank you though!!
