I replaced the DME of my e36 316i with a DME from Z3. It is working but the problem is the increase fuel consumption 6km/l from 9km/l. I have it diagnosed and the mechanic told me that my new DME has O2 sensor whereas the car doesn't have. Is their any way to disable the DME's O2, or any other alternative? thank you.

I don't think there's much that you can do there, except maybe run a cable from the DME to the exhaust and wire in your own O2 sensor. You'll have to also well / drill a port in your exhaust to fit the sensor. Seems complicated, but I'm pretty sure it would be doable (or maybe get an exhaust from a car that had O2 sensors)?
