E30 Cutting Out problem

I have an 89 325iS, Idles great. Occasionally, at driving speeds, cruising or accelerating, it will cut out, as if suddenly no fuel, or ignition, just cuts out. It will idle fine, and keep running, but no power. Suddenly it will just go away, and run fine for a while.
Stomp test shows 1233, the throttle position switch. I pulled the connector to test the switch, it was full of oil. Continuity test of the switch came out fine, so I cleaned the connector out with contact cleaner and reassembled.
Will the TPS cause this problem? Everything I see about TPS is idle related.
