Hi does the e36 gear box auto have a oil seal inside the bell housing as i think my box my be losing oil from inside the bell housing

There's a driveshaft in there so there must be seals in there. If it's leaking from from there, then you would probably see puddles of fluid on the floor of your garage.

The most common gearbox leak is the gear sensor on the side.
In the bell housing you have the engine rear main and the gearbox input shaft seals. You need to determine if it is engine oil or tranny oil, but first determine if the leak is in the bell housing.
