Info Needed on Dyno Types and Differences.

Info Needed on Dyno Types and Differences.
Hi Guys,
I am doing my first Dyno after a rebuild with modifications.
I was not satisfied with the work and I requested the mechanic to run the car on a Dyno so we can see the actual engine performances so there is no misunderstandings.
Is there just one type of Dyno and are there any differences in the types of measurements. I want to be able to measure apples to apples when all is done. I look forward to your advice.
Thanks

I'm a dyno guy...I do chassis dynos, engine dynos, tuning...whatever...

Basically the deal is this:

You're going to have a really hard time proving what you did or didn't get with your rebuild by just going to a dyno now. You don't have a baseline and trying to compare one dyno number to any other claimed (or promised) number without a baseline (before the rebuild and mods) number from the same type/brand of dyno is pretty near impossible.

It really doesn't matter much what brand or type of dyno you use, because the only thing you are really looking for is the change in the numbers -- "I made 200HP at 6000rpm before and now I make 225 at 6500 now, but the torque peak is raised up 1000 RPM."

Just make sure you always use the same type of dyno when you are testing. They all have their assets and deficits and there are fanboys on all side for all the different brands. As long as you use the same one for your testing, you'll get the info you really need from going to the dyno.

Hit me up by e-mail or PM if I can help you figure out what you're looking for.
