Clutch master and Slave Cyl.

Hi..there...my E30 M40 318i '91 from brand new till now need to extra power to kick down the clutch pedal...I was thinking there should be some problem with my Clutch system and I went to BMW work shop for the problem and the mechanic says that the all E30 have this problem and he ask me to have a try with another car. from 10 car the "feel" during Clutch Pedal Kick Down is exactly the same with mine.
Just want to know Is there any replacement part or modification which can reduce the power during kick down..can any one help me...thanks

The slave cylinder in the E30 is more than adequate to actuate the clutch. I've never heard of this problem at all.

Salamat Pagi Pak!

Do you mean your clutch pedal is getting hard to push down on? Maybe your clutch fluid needs bleeding, the pedal bushes could be worn and stiff or the clutch needs to be changed.

This would be a good time to check the clutch slave cylinder, the clutch fork etc.

Good luck Pak!

My 5 year old could push the clutch down on an e30, if he could reach it. It requires no effort.
If your foot is on the pedal, it reqiures erffort to not disengage it.
However, there is no adjustment, and it does not engage at the top of the travel of the pedal.
If it is pedal travel, and not effort (as in resistance) you are reffering to...... Get another car, the clutch travel is excessive on these cars, and it takes getting used to.

Thanks any one....
just finish to modify the Clutch Slave cylinder ,as measured that the cylinder bore has 20.64 mm and I do the modification with enlarge the Bore diameter into 22.2 mm, and replace the repair kit from E34 520i M20...now no need much power to kick down it to the floor..
