Exclamation MAF error code lighting up

Hey guys,

So the check engine light has come on in my '94 318i and the error code says something is wrong with the MAF (its the barn door style MAF). I pulled it out and the door was kinda sticky so I did my best to clean it out and its much smoother, but the check engine light is still on. Also its not the rubber boot, I checked that and there are no leaks.

The car seems to run fine, but I need to get this thing smogged…

Any ideas? could it be that I need to reset the check engine light to see if there is still an error? If I do need to replace the MAF is there a way to convert to the "hot wire" type?

Thanks,
Jon

Yes. Hit the reset on your Peak tool.
