BMW Roundel 1989 325i - Code 1233 - WOT Error

Greetings,
Recently while driving my beautifully running 1989 325i Convertible, my engine would periodically seem to stall but would start back up while driving. On occasions it would sort of stutter under acceleration. While the issue was random and temporary the stomp test would only show 1444 - all clear. Then one day while driving home, the car simply died while turning a corner. The stomp test revealed 1233 - Error associated with Wide Open Throttle sensor. Having been down this road with 1232 - Throttle Idle Switch... "Check TPS for proper operation" to me equates to replace the thing and see what happens. Having had good luck with this in the past, that's what I did.
With a new TPS installed, the engine turned over once or twice for around 15 seconds and now nothing again. Code is still reading 1233.

What next?

I would consider the possibility that the code and the problem are unrelated, or are both due to some third problem such as a poor ground connection. A problem with the TPS should not cause the engine to cut out.

Check over the wiring carefully, particularly the ground connections. I am not familiar with the '89, but the e36 has a ground next to the right engine mount and one tucked beneath some other stuff on the right inner fender.

The hesitation while accelerating or turning a corner suggests possible water in the fuel or a plugged fuel filter. How old is the fuel filter? A bottle of HEET to put any water into solution won't hurt anything.

I have solved two different problems with similar symptoms.
1. The fuel pump wire harness was cracked and causing the fuel flow to act randomly.
2. The crank sensor wire had a run in with the belts. Some how the wire was installed wrong or had come loose.
Good luck.
