Question on BMW 3-Series Cam Sensor

Hi I have been having big problems with my 1series BMW. At starting the car chugs and shacks and as the car starts to move it gets bit better. When it's idol at traffic lights ect it shacks and chuggs again. Engine light comes in about 1 minute or so after starting. Computer reads cam shaft . We have replaced it and the sensors. And now I wonder if they have put BMW parts in Or universal parts. Wud this make a difference or do u think there is a bigger problem?? Any help much appreciated

What is the P-number of the fault code? You could have an issue with cam timing, which replacing the sensor would not remedy.
