Hi thanks for the great posts! 1999 e36 328i convertible... radio..no power...pulled the harness..the red/white wire which is the power on/off for the radio is no good..i jumpered a wire from the battery to the harness then plugged it in and the radio fired up. this radio has been off for a long time..but everything worked when it kicked on..where does this red/white wire actually end? i will first see maybe if i have a simple disconnect but if not would it be safe to just rewire? what guage is recommended..this is a c43 business hk advise please and thx!

Without looking at a wiring diagram it is hard to tell, but it probably comes from the radio fuse in the fusebox. You can run power to it but it will have power all of the time and may kill the battery overnight. 16 to 14 gauge wire is probably fine
