I just had run my BMW 95 320i, E36 engine...in a puddle of water. I noticed that my automatic trans still stays in the "N" position even when shifting to D...Can water seep into my transmission ? Or will changing its ATF help the situation ?

Sounds like you just have a bad transmission. Water can seep in but that would be over time. You can try changing the fluid but it doesn't sound like it's going to help unless the level is very low
