My e36 328i is suffering from poor fuel consumption in city driving, long distance is wonderful. I suspect the cat is failing, and bought a used replacement one. Possible to DIY at home? Any special tools needed? I have all basic ones

You might have to cut some of the bolts off if they a rusted badly, a torch or a cut off tool might be needed.
