Hey guys, my '87 325is has a driveshaft harmonic damper. I've read conflicting things on the internet about whether or not I need to keep it. Can you share your wisdom? I also think mine may not have been installed correctly based on where it was when I removed it. It was rearward of the tranny output flange. From my reading, it seems it should actually be mounted on the forward engine-side side of the tranny output flange. If I need to keep it, how should it go back on? Thanks

If it was on the car from the factory the car needs it for some reason. BMW would not spend money to put useless parts on cars.
