Fighting infamous 318iS overheating problem. Radiator, water pump, clutch fan and t-stat has been changed. Drove the car all summer without a t-stat. No problem. It's getting cooler now, installed a new one and it's back to running warm. I believe the system is adequately bleed. I'm getting good heat. As a matter of fact running with heat on is keeping the gauge from going all the way to the right. Am I overlooking anything?

I would perform a pressure test, leak down test, and a compression test to make sure the head gasket is ok, I would also check the air flow across the rad to make sure it is not plugged.
