Question on BMW 3-Series E36 Fuel Filter

i have a 95 740il bmw and sometimes itll start up fine and some times it will drag. today i was driving back from a family members house came home turned my car off and an hour later started my car fine was driving for about 2 minutes then it felt like it lost power onced stopped engine shut off and now wont start. battery is completely dead now too and she wont even start with a jump. is it my starter completely gone or is it my alternator?
