Our 1988 325 is wiring harness had none of the colors listed. As the radio was stolen prior to our purchase, there is no hint as to where these wires once went. The entire group of wires is held together by a tag with 1 381 718 0 among other numbers. There are two brown/black wires, 1 yellow/black, 1 yellow/red, 1 blue/black, 1 blue/red, 1 grey/violet, 1 grey/red, and 1 white. No wiring diagram I have found lists these as choices. What next?

I would grab a repair manual. It will have the wiring you need.

This was a rather snarky response. Perhaps I should have specified that "none of the colors listed" means that Bentley's, your own 101 Projects, and the BMW electrical technical service bulletin each describe wire colors that do not correspond with the colors in this car. Only one of the speakers (right front) has colors that match the colors at the radio. But never mind. We ran all new wires, and it works great. I was hoping for something a little more helpful, however.
