I have a e38 1999 740i and everyone once in a while I see steam/fluid shooting out of the upper right of the radiator by the nipple. So I don't know weather it is the nipple that I need to replace the nipple the radiator is around 2 years old and the temp gauge doesn't say it's over heating.

You may have a leaky side tank. I would pressure test the cooling system. This will help pinpoint the leak.
