Belt is supposed to be 5 ribs and on ac compressor it fits fine but the pulley that drives the beltattached to engine seems to only take a 4 ribs. I put the belt on and it wobbles and seems unstable is the pulley incorrect is that even possible!

You didn't mention what vehicle you have. The belt ribs have openings for the pulley ribs, they will be different numbers as they mate. The belt part number should be double checked if you think it is wrong. If it is wobbling and the correct belt, there may be a faulty component.
