When it says to mark the front and rear drive shafts to keep them aligned for reinstall, how can the mark be so precise as to get it exactly back in the same spline? Is the exact same spline that important? It seems like a grease pen mark that far in front and back of the center bearing wouldn't get you precisely align splines.

If you mark it where it comes apart, you can get it back in the same place. The splines are not that small.
