I have a problem with a fuel spillage from an e36 318is. The spill happens on a return pipe right on the sender unit on the left tank I tried to fit a new 8mm pipe on the return but it keeps coming out. What could be the cause of that?

The nipple could be cracked. Inspect it for a hairline crack.
