So josh with the 330ci again. Only fault codes are misfires. I had one code for a wheel angle sensor or something along those lines about a month ago but other than that nothing but misfires. It's driving me crazy. Could that one sensor be faulty and throw all of these lights off and a rough idle? It all started happening at once I can't imagine the issues being unrelated..

There may be fault codes in other systems, for example the cluster. If you have a bus or voltage issue, you could have you symptoms. You could also just have a misfire. I would check spark, fuel and compression on all cylinders.

Ok.. everything thus far has tested and checked fine. But the issue has gotten worse. Battery, alternator, connections, starter have been tested. Battery unhooked is 12.7, running voltage is 13.8.
Compression is good, spark is good with new plugs installed, all coils tested ok. Now when I turn the key to position 2 the only thing that lights up is the red digital panel. So I charged the battery again and have same issue. So I pulled the terminal cables off and touched them together for a few seconds and reattached, same result. I had the key to pos. 2 to unlock the steering wheel as I'm pushing it into the garage and then the cluster lit up as normal. The car started at this point only to die and the cluster lights to go out at the same time. The lights still come on sporadically. After some research I'm starting to think my computer may be shot? All of my fuses checked out ok. The car will crank but not start with dash not illuminated... Any suggestions? |
