The power drivers seat on my '97 328i reclines but will not come back up. I cannot hear the motor or gears turning when using the button to come back up. Any suggestion on where to start?

I would inspect the drive cable from the motors to the seat. They may be damaged, check if they are pulling apart.

Pelican sells the gears for the reclining portion of the seat. Both of mine were destroyed. As I recall, I could still hear a noise from the motor though.
