I have a 96 318is coupe. Both windows wont roll down and the anti pitch no longer functions. I press on the window switch and only clicking is heard. I managed to drill out the rivets from the driver side door and there seems to be a stop when i press the button for it to roll up. I hold the motor in my hand and the gear works, but it seems to have an infinite "down" but a limited "up". I can't figure out what could be the problem. The motor works while its held in my hand but it has an infinite "down" and a limited "up" and the anti pinch is not working.

It sounds to me like what you are saying is, when the motor is attached to the regulator, it does not work. When removed it does. This could be a motor that cannot handle the load of the window or a regulator that is jammed. Does the window move up and down smoothly when the motor is removed? If you move it manually?
