1993 BMW 318i stereo system...what have you done?

I'm wondering what people are doing in these confined spaces of the 318i. So far, I've installed JL 5-1/4" CS components up front, in the stock locations. I had to dremel out the stock tweeter and hot-glue in the CS tweeter, but it sounds good & still looks stock. I'm running the front speakers with a Rockford Punch 300s, and a JL half-moon 8" ported enclosure in the trunk on a Punch 250s bridged. I have a Sony x-plod 750 cd deck with crossovers built in. I removed the rear speakers completely in hopes to get more bass coming through the back, but it still sounds like crap. I need a good tight bass solution that won't take up the entire trunk space and is not real boomy. All I want is a clean, tight system that won't clip when I'm jamming with the windows down and sunroof open. Any suggestions or pictures of what you've accomplished would be appreciated.

planes...

Thanks! I've sold most of my planes and helis to buy parts for my '74 911 engine rebuild. As you've probably noticed, my orders are small, but many.

I've updated a few things on the Bimmer: JL VR6 components in the doors, JL CS5 components in the rear deck, and two 10" JL subs in a sealed box in the trunk. It's much happier now I'm still just running the two amps, but it's more than enough. The front and rear speakers are running parallel, but it images nicely. I am going to test a JL single 12" ported box tomorrow to see how it sounds compared to the two 10s.
