I'm changing the fuel hoses that run from the fuel pump to the hard lines underneath a e36 sedan. It's a '92, so the fuel pump mirrors the one replaced in this article. I was able to replace the smaller diameter hose bottom hose on the fuel pump; however, the bigger diameter hose top hose on the fuel pump does not match the size of the diameter of the other hose underneath the car. Does the bigger diameter hose connect to the hard line underneath the car, or somewhere else?

I'm not sure. I don;t have hose sizes for that vehicle handy.
