I just had a Pioneer head unit put in my US Model 97 Z3 to replace the factory AM/FM Cassette. It works and sounds great, however I now seem to be having issues with the alarm system and can't tell if it is related. When I lock the car with the remote, the alarm will go off in about a half hour. Even after unlocking and re-locking it, that will happen again. If I lock it with the key in the door, it locks, but the alarm system is not enabled that is probably normal. If I remove the faceplate from the head unit, the remote will not lock the car it just beeps twice.

Possible you have something wired wrong, sending voltage back into the vehicle electrical system. Check your wiring again.
