Hi! My 1987 BMW 325IS has poor acceleration even with pedal to floor from 25-45/50mph. My mechanic has had the car for over a month and has not found the problem. He says he has check many things but they have not been the problem, i.e., fuel filter replaced, hoses and lines checked. I do not think he has checked the compression on all cylinders. After 32 days I expressed my frustrated that it is taking so long to ID & correction the problem, and the mechanic got frustrated that I expressed my frustration....Go figure! Any thought as to what my auto problem may be?

I would check spark, fuel and compression on all cylinders. Also check exhaust back pressure.
