325IS stiff getting into reverse (man tranny)
My '89 325 IS is quite stiff passing the reverse interlock. that is, there is no problem getting _into_ reverse, it's stiff moving out of the neutral position over to the left. No problem sliding it forward into reverse.
Is this normal? I installed a UUC short shifter and took it out, because it took both hands to pull the shifter over out of neutral. I have replaced all the shifterbushings and the reverse light switch, thinking it might be binding up. No luck. any ideas?

This may be a stupid question, but have you checked the fluid level in your gearbox? Low fluid can cause sticking. How many miles are on the clock? Maybe a bad synchro hub?

just put in fresh MTL
I put in the redline just in case, does make the box shift better, but didn't help reverse much.
And its not a problem getting it into gear. It's just the moving to the left coming out of neutral. (Must be pushing in a detent spring) Acutally getting it into gear is no problem. 125K on the box. thanks for any help,

Maybe the new short shifter is misadjusted?
