1998 328i OBC issue

My onboard computer display is black. The clock still works and is lit. I have pulled the OBC out and swapped the clock bulb with one in the computer display and is does not work. The bulb works when it is returned to the clock.

Are the OBC and clock on separate fuses?
Are the OBC and clock separate units? Could one fail without the other failing.

Should I replace the OBC or check elsewhere?

Thank you for any help you can give.

I show 3 fuses going to the OBC, F23 a 5 Amp fuse, F45 a 7.5 amper, and F31 a 5A fuse. Double check those first before condemning the unit.
