I have a 94 325i convertable. I pulled a Blaupunkt mp34 out because it keeps shutting off after getting warm. I am replacing it with a JVC r370. When I pulled the old unit out there was a "PAC oem" connected in behind it. This seems to be an interface to the stock amp. When I connect through it no signal goes to the speakers. When I bypass it no signal goes either. I wired speakers direct to the back of the radio and it works fine. What is this PAC and what is it supposed to do? Thanks

Not 100% sure. I would need to see the wiring diagram for the vehicle. Do you have one to share?

Not sure this will help your situation, but Bentley does have a great guide for BMW electrical systems here: The Hack Mechanic Guide to European Automotive Electrical Systems - PelicanParts.com. Good luck!
