Hi! I have an e30. When I bought the car, it already had an after market radio installed - so when I changed it for a newer radio, I just followed the wiring of the old one. It was working until I inserted the radio back in the dash. Suddenly no power to the radio, tachometer and dome light stopped working as well. When I pulled the radio back out, I noticed that the solid red wire was now unplugged from wherever it was plugged inside the dash. Where should I connect this red wire to? And is the the cause for my tach and dome light not working as well? I also plan to order the harness in your instructions below but I have a couple of questions. Please email me where I can contact you guys. Thanks!

There should be a diagram included with your new stereo. That red wire most likely is the switched B+ input to the radio. See if you can find that connection and let us know if the other items come back up. You may have also blown the fuse, so check the radio and instrumentation fuses.
