I am replacing the ancient rubber brake hoses on my 1990 325i e30 with the steel braided set PLB-323-106D. Is it recommended to use any type of lock-tite or anti-seize on the threads when installing if so, what would you recommend? Or is it best to just clean the threads if so, what to clean with / what not to clean with?

No threadlocker is needed. You can use brake cleaner spray and a wire brush to clean the threads. Ne sure to plug the brake line before cleaning to prevent debris from entering the hydraulic system.
