Hi, I have an 96´ M3 with S50B32 that I redone the vanos seals and anti rattle kit from Beisan, full revision with new oil and filters, chain tensioners...
After 1000km I am getting a knock from vanos only warmed up. I mesured the vanos oil pressure and is 105 Bar but drops to 100 Bar with the knock. When cold the engine is without any strange noise and very smooth.
What can be causing this warmed up noise from vanos related to oil pressure??
Thanks in advance

100 bar at idle is OK. The noise could be a faulty actuator,or timing chain components.

Thanks for quick reply!
Is really a solid knock inside vanos, not timing chain related. There are no codes or errors with diagnostic. The engine is smooth and full of power. Also vanos works perfectly. Only the knock when warmed up. I connected the pressure gauge to vanos and knock is related to oil pressure. Sorry for asking, but what is the actuator?

The actuator is the VANOS unit.

if knocking, that unit is likely faulty. You have the correct pressure from your test results.
