M3 steering wheel swap

Hi. I just got hold of a 4-spoke M3 steering wheel from a 95-96 M3. I am trying to install it into my car, but am having some issues with regards to wiring.

Let me describe the situation below, but it probably won't make sense till you see the pics.

The stock wheel on my 95-325is has 4 wires that attach to this long ribbon that wraps around the steering wheel hub (PIC 1). They do not unplug or anything. It is seemlessly attached to this long ribbon that wraps around the hub. These wires appear again on the front side of the steering wheel and plug into the rear of the airbag and the horn.

The M3 wheel has a 2 wire plug on the back that is apparently for the airbag, but has different colored wires. I also don't see a place to connect the horn wire.

This leaves me scratching my head trying to figure out what to do. I want the airbag to continue to work so I don't want to start cutting wires w/o knowing what I'm doing. I wonder if I might be able to swap out the 'hubs' between the two wheels? Can't seem to see a way to do that though.

Please take a look at the pics and let me know if anyone has any info. thanks.

First off use extreme caution!!!!
I've heard of those bags blowing even if you look at them the wrong way.

I was told it was a 95 M3, but it could just as easily have come from a 96 M3.
