What tech articles would you all like to see?

Im going to open this up and ask everyone what sorts of tech articles would you like to see posted for the E30?

jamesthevaliant 02-05-2003 06:03 PM

what about some info about upgrading to higher flow fuel injectors. I would like to know what the most ideal setup is for aftermarket ones, and how to install them.

How about replacing the water pump and doing a timing belt.

These are already in the works.

When do you think the water pump and timing belt replacement be posted? I have bought the parts and was going to have it done at the mechanic.

Sned me your email address and i can email it to you. If you have the tools, and are somewhat mechanically adept, you could do it yourself and save some money.

I really like to see a tech article on clutch replacement, adjustment. Looking at this sites list, it says it was to be included awhile back. What a great site!

Right now I am waiting for the garage to call me back with a quote of price for the timing belt replacement. If it is too much $$$ I will be doing it myself.

How about a step-by-step guide on how to rebuild an engine? (Or would that be a book?)

hoarker15 03-12-2003 10:44 PM

I need to replace one of my front wheel bearings on my '84 325e, so I know I would like to see an article on that. Also what about a tech article on how to switch the rear diff. off a later e30 to a limited slip rear diff. off a 325is?

Jared at Pelican Parts 03-13-2003 08:21 AM

hoarker I already have something like that. Are you looking to do this?

hoarker15 03-13-2003 07:07 PM

Yes, if you have some info on the replacement of the hub bearings I would love to have it. My Chilton manual does't do the best job of explaining the whole process. To do this am I going to need some specialty tools? My manual mentions some tool item numbers but I don't know how much these will cost? If I don't already have these tools, would it be cheaper to take it to a shop to do this? Or are these going to be tools that are used quiet often for drive train work?

As for info on swaping rear diffs would be also be real helpfull. I am not going to do this project for a little while, but is something that I want to do hopefully before next winter. Also do you know what year and models came with the limited slip rear differential that will fit on my '84 325e, and what the ratios are?
Thanks!

PROJECTS I HAVE PLANNED:
valve adjustment, S.I. Batteries (8675309), Repair a drivers-side window; the person who fixed the window motor previously did a shoddy job, ergo the window rattles and the upper limit is very noisy, and the switch is flaky. Bushings in the shifter assembly. Universals on the drive shaft.
