Thanks! I'd rather not replace the sensor until it needs it, so I think I'll coat the entire thing in liquid electrical tape, and maybe cover that with some thick silicone or something while I look for a bad connector to steal the pigtail from. Of course I'm about to undertake a TB job and a clutch master replacement, so the "while I'm in there" stuff that creeps up over the course of those may make replacing it easy/timely.
