Collectors, 4 into 1, are great IF you run the exhaust wide open. This is not a design that has any benifit with an exhaust system stuffed onto it.
Not having looked at the Stahl's I would bet that the reason these have an advantage is the bends coming out of the head are as large a radius as possible with or with out a collector.
