I considered getting an auto 944 for my wife, but after seeing her reach for her purse, cell phone, and observe her overall driving habits, I decided against it. Reason: she does not CONCENTRATE like a 944 driver must, because just a twitch of the wheel and you're in the ditch. With her Volvo, she can wiggle the steering wheel all over the place and the car continues to drive in a straight line.

As for Fresno, visit the "Landmark" for dinner, walk across the street and get yourself a Leon Jimenez for after dinner, go back to the Landmark and have a drink on the patio. Think about getting her into something that's safer in the long run, until she "learns to drive". A 944 can be unforgiving, but it would be one heck of a "gift" for her to drive on special occasions when "concentration" is more in the cards than the "everyday routine".
