I offer no info concerning Ohio just here to say I love Tampa and make a trip over about once every year or two just to go to Berns.
My only suggestion is to go visit there once you have some neighborhoods picked out.
Google street view is also a good way to look around and see if one street is good and 2 streets over is trouble.
