The 2.7 is a good motor, however, the bearing is always going to be an issue. The 3 mos isn't enough of a solution in my view. The bearings are 'fine' until they're not. If you want years of trouble free driving, then you have to put the replacement bearing in the equation. If you want to rely on luck, all bets are off, is the way I would approach it. If the price is too high because you have to do the bearing, then look for a car from a buyer that has all the service records and one that has the bearing replaced. It might be a higher miles car, but better maintained.
