That's very strange that you were able to jumpstart your 911. There there is no physical way to attach jumper clamps to the (+) terminal b/c of the unique battery location of the 911.
Go check your battery. The (-) terminal should be towards the front of the car. The (+) cable does not have enough slack to reach the front of the car.
The only thing I can think of is that your battery posts are transposed. Is your (+) terminal on the inside or outside ? As you can see in post #2, both styles are manufactured. If the post is on the inside of the car, closer to the gas tank, then it is not blocked by the fender.
