Our German shepard would never attack anyone but god help the person or dog who tried to mess with our family. One day a contractor jumped out of his pickup and started walking to me and cursing at me. My dog let out the nastiest growl i've ever heard from a dog and he hightailed it back in the truck. Contractor only communicated by cell after that day. She was fine around other dogs, even friendly, just don't mess with her flock.
She used to sleep in my daughters room at the foot of her bed. Guarded her for 13 years.
