1. You cant control the discussion. The vast majority of hemp proponents are stoners and you know it. Why would we accept your premise and ignore the 800 lb gorilla of the pot smokers lobby pushing hemp as a means to legitimize their vice?
2. Who cares about hemp anymore? Its not like there aren't 100 other options, both natural and synthetic that can do the job just as well or better. Why don't we decry the fall of the wooden spoked wagon wheel while we're at it? It also works, but why do we care about it anymore?
3. Your last line is truly the conclusion and the end of the discussion. Yes, big business will do whatever it takes to remain a big business and in the past, crazy things were done (much of it illegal or at least unethical) to remain in power. You sound surprised about this.
