Nope...I have not changed one bit. In fact, I cut and pasted that out of our most recent argument on the topic.

Obviously my remark "cars are stopped regularly at the gates for random search" recognizes the ability for personnel to leave the base (and then return). As stated, few are stupid enough to take the risk. Especially since many must be available for immediate recall (within 30 min). Hard to sober up and get to work in such a short time.

While your claims of partying with underage airmen may be accurate, I have not (in over 40 years service). The reason may simply be the crowds we hung out with. Most military members I have been exposed to were quite cognizant of the law and avoided breaking them. Especially laws prosecuted so harshly. Those that routinely break the laws get caught...and kicked out (as is appropriate). The military expects personnel to follow lawful orders/the law and has little tolerance for those that do not.
