Thanks Mark. I'll tackle it and put up with the PITA. Actually, more of a pain in the back having to contort around that cramped area.
This will be project #2, following replacing one spring on one of the parking brake shoes that broke a long time ago and can be heard scratching around. Very annoying. Pelican fixed me up with one spring and two washers - and exorbitant shipping for something you could stick a stamp to and mail USPS. Oh well, gotta have it.
